We adore how the antique button and vintage glass stones showcased in this necklace glow with a subtle communal sparkle.

The first button is an antique, one-of-a-kind, Victorian-era button characterized by chased or hammered brass. Metalworkers forged the lovely designs on these buttons by ‘hammering’ on their backside to create a low relief design or ‘chasing’ on the front side to sink the metal. 

Every antique button is a one and only, chosen just for you, and so will not be identical to the image.

Suspended from the antique button are two midcentury German and Czech lampworked glass cabochons that were hand-pressed into antique molds and manufactured using centuries-old processes. 

Both testify to the enduring talents of Czech and German glass artisans who were the first to start pressing hot glass in finely detailed molds. By the early 20th century, they’d mastered their craft, and their exquisitely detailed glass buttons and cabochons were exported around the world.
