Goldstone glass was invented by the Venetians in the 17th century by heating silica and copper oxide until metallic crystals form.
This process was perfected by Czech and German glass artisans in the early 20th century. Sadly, this trade is uncommon today and goldstone glass is becoming hard to find.

- Green & Goldstone round glass buttons, made in West Germany, circa 1950
- Stamped brass settings made today in the USA in antique dies
- Nickel-free & lead-free brass euro wire closures
