We were thrilled to discover two original store cards containing the extraordinary Victorian-era, rose-tinted brass button we used in this romantic bracelet design. The card was tattered by the passing of over thirteen decades but still held 24 mint-condition tinted brass buttons.

We named this piece after Britain’s Uniform Penny Post. Created in 1840, it enabled anyone in England to post a letter for a penny. In 1841, the London post office processed a half-million Valentine’s Day cards, and by 1871 that number was 1.2 million. In fact, Valentine's Day was so popular in the Victorian era that postmen got special meal allowances to help them keep up with the extraordinary exertion required to deliver all the cards.

The buttons featured in this family edition release are the kind of discovery that makes even the most intrepid collectors jealous. Finding matching Victorian-era metal buttons still attached to their original stock card is in itself a marvel. However, these mint condition beauties also have pristine tinting, making them a true button-hunting miracle.

We think these exceedingly rare and collectible buttons are consummate tokens of true love and, therefore, perfect for our Valentine's Day release.
